Jackie Batsinduka
A writer, director, producer, actor, and the 2006 Royal Oak Elementary School Spelling Bee champion, Jackie likes to stay busy. A graduate of Concordia University’s Communications Studies program, Jackie began her professional film career in visual effects, coordinating the production teams of major feature films. In 2019, she wrote, directed, and starred in her latest short film, Geni, which had it’s premiere at the Regent Park Film Festival. Since moving to Toronto in the same year, she was selected for the Black Women Film! Canada Leadership Program, and joined the upcoming season of the Regent Park Project web series as a co-writer and actor. She’s spent her quaran-time co-producing and co-hosting Skillin’ It, a weekly virtual filmmaking skill share, leading operations on the short film fund Reel Work Filmmaking Initiative on behalf of BIPOC TV & Film, and developing her own projects.

Our MANDATE
This is a space that is intended to be accessible for filmmakers of all backgrounds. No matter your gender identity, sexuality, race, physical ability, and/or experience level, this space is for you. It is important to the producers of this skill share that we lead not with intimidation but an openness to share. Please be mindful of this while participating.
