Gökçe Erdem is a Toronto-based writer and director originating from Istanbul, Turkey. She holds a BFA in Film, Video & Integrated Media from Emily Carr University of Art & Design. Her works have been supported by the Canada, Ontario, Toronto Arts Councils and the Turkish Ministry of Culture. She was one of the selected directors to participate in the 2018 Locarno Filmmakers Academy; also an alumna of the Talents Sarajevo (2014), Reykjavik Talent Lab (2014) and RIDM Talent Lab (2019). Gökçe’s latest short film, Titanyum, has screened at film festivals internationally and won awards. Between 2012-2017, Gökçe worked as Head of Development at the Toronto-based production company, Scythia Films, where she handled the feature film projects in development, from their writing/development stage to financing. Gökçe is currently developing her debut feature-length project.
